Turning Curses Into Blessings

They may curse, but you will bless. Let those who attack me be ashamed, but let me rejoice. Psalm 109:28 (GW)

Curses and blessings exist, and they are as real as material objects. Both could manifest themselves from spoken words to text; from personal to the corporate level.

Should followers of Christ be concerned about curses made over them? What should Christians do if they figured there are curses at work in their lives?

When King David crafted Psalm 109, he documented a powerful psalm with lots of emotions. Perhaps this psalm is considered one of the most Imprecatory Psalms. He was sure that when the enemies release curses over him, the Almighty God will reverse them. Instead of evils are now turn into blessings. He knew deep within his heart that God is his Vindicator. He should not be fearful of the enemies’ schemes because God is his judge. God made a covenant with David. In the Contract, God promised David that all vengeance is His to respond.

When you discover curses at work in your life, don’t be afraid and need not worry. That’s the moment when God is about to flex His muscles. Soon you would see a turnaround of events; He is turning those curses into blessings. His desires are for you to rejoice and taste of His goodness, power, and love.

Here are four things to do if you realize curses may be at work in your life:

  1. Commit all evils to God because vengeance is His. Trust God for He is your Vindicator.
  2. Hold tightly to the blood covenant Jesus made with you. While on the Cross, He took on all curses upon himself. He became a Curse, and any future evil pronouncements are broken once and for all. The blood of Jesus Christ destroys them.
  3. Determine to rejoice in Christ Jesus. Celebrate, offer praises and honor to God for He already given you victory! To be more accurate, Christ is the Victor. He is the Champion. When He promised to grant you success, He is offering himself as the Victor to you. The tiny piece of revelation King David comprehended in Christ for the future achievements changed his life in God.
  4. Lastly, covert righteous living when Christ had offered you a righteous standing in Him, as well as before the Father.

When you discover curses at work in your life, don’t be afraid and need not worry. That’s the moment when God is about to flex His muscles. Soon you would see a turnaround of events; He is turning those curses into blessings.

A Prayer for Today:

Hallelujah! Awesome and all-powerful God, I proclaim that You are the most excellent Being in heaven and on earth. You had received the highest honor, and you dwell in me. Today, I take comfort in the work You’d accomplished on the Cross; that You are the Victor of my life. You are my victory, my Champion and Conqueror. I rejoice in You for my enemies are defeated foes. In Jesus’ name!
