Raising Family: Parents in prayer.

“Mom, I don’t feel well”, came the little voice from the side of my bed in the middle of the night. Duty calls, and I get up wondering what can I do to help my child to feel better. That night was years ago. Today they are teenagers, and yet I still have concerns that every parent has regarding their children no matter their age. I have learnt to stand before God in prayer for my family. Every time I have concerns or anxiety, I bring it to the Lord in prayer. The Bible says, “the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. I bring my request before God, and I lift every one of my children to the Lord in prayer knowing that He is in control and He hears me.

Just the other day, we received a call from a distressed mother who was searching for her lost son. I felt compassionate, and we immediately started praying for her because I remembered that feeling of fear and panic when I lost my two-year-old son once in a shopping mall some years ago, but we found him a minute later. After our prayer, we got good news! They found her son! Thank you, Jesus! We can activate our faith through prayer.

Here is a prayer that you can say for your loved ones:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for love. I pray that my children will know You in a personal way, and they will experience Your reality in their lives. I know you are in control of every situation and blessings are on the way! Thank You for protecting us from every harm and danger. Thank you for guiding us and watching over us. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
