TODAYS

You don’t need to walk alone.

No holding back

The Lord God is our protector and glorious king. He blesses us with kindness and honour. The Lord freely gives every good thing to those who do what is right. (Psalm 84:11, ERV)

How do you like it if your buddy blesses you $20,000.00? His purpose is to help you out in a difficult season which you are going through, and to make things better; there’s no deadline to pay off this loan. Also, there’s no interest attached to it. I’m pretty sure you would feel incredibly blessed and thankful!

Okay, now stretch your imagination to 1,000 times. The Lord, your God, chooses to bless you with $20,000,000.00! His reason is that you did what was right in His sight. On top of this enormous sum, the Lord also blesses you with kindness and favour, and He promises to honour your name. It may sound too good to be true, well, that’s what the Lord did when He transformed David from a nobody into the greatest and most adored king in the history of Israel.

Would the Lord repeat history? Based on what ground that the Lord could do this again? My answer is, the righteousness of Christ that made us holy, righteous and favourable in the eyes of Father God. Secondly, our pursuit of righteous living—aligning our value system, a sense of justice and fulfilling what seems right in the eyes of God.

God is always looking out for an opportunity to bless us. He is a generous God, and He would freely give every good thing which is beneficial to us since He has given us His only Son for the redemption of our sins; also His Holy Spirit. God will not withhold any other form of blessings from us.

So, let us prepare ourselves to receive from the most generous God. Here are two things we could do. First thing first is, to consciously and subconsciously acknowledge the righteousness of Christ. Humble yourself before the living God, and surrender our lives to serve Him alone. Admit that He alone is all we ever need. Christ alone is most holy, most righteous and just.

The second important thing we are to do is, to live according to the moral standard of His kingdom’s laws, principles and practices. I’m not referring to the religious dos and don’ts. Neither am I talking about the rigidness of religious Christianity. I’m plainly saying about God’s Kingdom standard—the Truth, the Way and the Life. Christ is everything! He is the Grace, the Law, the King, the Kingdom, the Lord, the Ruler, and the Righteousness. Everything is a reflection of His nature, character and image. He is righteous, so the law summons us to embrace justice and hate corruption. He is love; thus, His law urges us to forgive and to show compassion and kindness. There are so many Kingdom practices and cultural values embedded in the written Word of God. Let us embrace them and put them into practice.

God will not withhold every good thing from people who practice righteousness, justice and kindness. He is looking for every opportunity to download heavenly blessings! Get ready to receive them!

Scripture reading: Joshua 1:8

Let us pray

Dear Lord, I extend my gratitude and praises because of Your generosity towards me. You are not going to withhold heavenly and natural blessings from me. You would not because You made a promise a long time ago. That whoever embraces righteousness, justice and observing the laws of Your kingdom shall inherit blessings from on high. You prospered Joshua, David and many others. Today, You are going to do likewise to me. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!
