Have you ever carried a desire to do great things? Or to make a difference in someone’s life? Maybe during your high school year, trying to stand out?
Philippe Petit carries on his heart to perform an ultimate wire-walking in the history of humanity. He achieved the unbelievable performance on August 6, 1974, when he walked back and forth between the towers of the World Trade Center, America. In total, it was a 45-minute street performance. The act of bravery made him a legend. He has set a world record in wire walking since then.
There are many heroes of faith throughout the Bible, and their actions shaped the landscape of belief. It was legendary—not a myth but truth; to name a few such as Abel, Enoch, Noah and Abraham. Of course, there are many others you would find as you read through the Bible.
In Mark 14, when an ordinary woman anointed Jesus with her lifelong saving perfume, her act of worship was soon criticised by a few on the premise. Their opinion is, the quality perfume could have been sold for 300 denarii, or US$ 150.00 and donated to the poor. The naysayers treated her harshly. But her action was legendary and highly praised by Jesus. That woman may be ordinary in the eyes of society. But she is a legend in the sight of God! She may live among the lower-class people, not wealthy as compared to the wealthy and affluent, and yet she behaved extraordinarily in her faith and belief! Her faith shaped the landscape of belief, and her action was courageous.
To leave a mark behind, and to perform a legendary act in your generation, the faith element is a must. Even though the majority may not agree with you, and would criticise you but it’s okay. Keep your eyes on Jesus and set your heart on the vision He has placed in you. Go and finish what He had started in you. Jesus believes in you, and for that reason, He chose you among the rest to do the legendary act. Are you going to have a smooth sailing journey? Not at all! But it is worth it because you are leaving behind a legacy. An enormous amount of life would turn to Jesus!
So what are you waiting for? Carry your alabaster jar of expensive perfume, and go to Jesus. Do that which He has will you to do. By faith, you could put a dent in the universe!

Dearest Holy Spirit, I want to make a difference in this lifetime. To be a blessing to the lives around me. Let Your name receive glory and praise through my way of life. Help me to increase faith and deepen my belief in You. Anoint this hands and feet, use my lips to spread Your truth. Take my life and fully utilise it as a witness to the lost. Teach me to make a dent in the universe. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!
