TODAYS

You don’t need to walk alone.

I Am…

Jonah answered, “I am a Hebrew, and I worship the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land.” (Jonah 1:9, NLT)

It was in the middle of a violent storm, sailors and crewmen frantically cried for mercy! They were awestruck by the deadly weather. In their minds, they believed it’s the end of their lives. Amidst the chaos and fear, they came to notice a prophet sleeping soundly in the corner of the ship. They asked, “Why has this awful storm come down on us?” they demanded. “Who are you? What is your line of work? What country are you from? What is your nationality?”

Jonah answered, “I am a Hebrew, and I worship the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land.”

Notice Jonah’s in-depth assurance, for he knew his identity in God. He knew the God of whom He offers worship. He indeed has had a deep connection with the Lord, who made the sea and the land. His insight into God spun out from his journey with Jehovah.

We are in a deadly storm named COVID-19. At this point in my post, slightly more than one million souls contracted with the virus, marginally more than 50 thousand lives died due to it. This plague cripples thousands upon thousands. Are you living in fear?

Fear not! For the Lord God who created heaven and earth, the land and seas are with you. He is always there for you, but you need to cultivate a sense of conviction that He is with you and for you. It’s okay to have the right knowledge about God, but it’s another thing to experience Him.

I want to share one key with you. This key will help build a deep sense of conviction that God, He is truly your God.

The key is, to train your mind to believe and to accept the Truth. The belief system is a gateway to access God’s Kingdom and all power within. When a deep belief system is altered and aligned to the Word of God, your trust in Jehovah will remain firm. Fear may try to disturb you. It may knock violently on the door of your heart. But your deep belief system, which is influenced by faith in the Spirit and Truth, will subdue it. You will see God in a new light behind fear and anxiety.

Fear not for God is with you. Don’t be dismayed because God is your God, and He has come to strengthen you. Jonah was able to have a deep sleep because he knew he is in God’s destiny. Even though he wilfully run away from God’s mission, yet he knew God’s mercy was upon him. I pray that you too will know your God and His mercy is upon you.

Let us pray:

Dear God, I choose to praise You in the middle of a violent storm. I will set aside day and night time to seek Your face. I know one place which is the safest in the middle of chaos, that is when I am in Your will and Your holy presence. I will find rest in You and rejoice greatly during trouble times. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!
