TODAYS

You don’t need to walk alone.

Honour God with your body

You should know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don't own yourselves. God paid a very high price to make you his. So honour God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (ERV)

We often hear sermons on financial stewardship and becoming a faithful servant to God-given talents. There's one fundamental principle described by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 6 is, Christians ought to honour God with our body.

In my opinion, the very first thing God entrusted us to manage and take care is none other than our physical body. Scripture points it out that our body belongs to Him. It's His temple, and it should be glorious, splendid and holy. When we become a good and faithful steward over our body, I believe, God would entrust us with other resources.

In some practical ways which you and I can do is to eat clean, stay healthy and fit. Let us ensure we have sufficient hours of rest, bring our physical and psychological self into God's presence through worship. Cultivate a good habit to read and especially to study scripture. These are a few possible things we can do and does not require extra money to stay healthy, holy and clean. Do not get ourselves entangled with ungodly and sinful activities, especially sexual activities outside holy matrimony.

When we become a good and faithful steward over our body, I believe, God would entrust us with other resources.

A Prayer for Today:

Dearest Holy Spirit, I thank You for dwelling in my physical body. You picked this body to be Your home. You live in it 24/7. It's my honour to demonstrate hospitality to You. Today I ask for wisdom and self-control, to be a good and faithful manager over my body—physical, psychological and emotional aspects. May You find comfort as my most honourable Guest. In Jesus' name.
