Generational Blessings Through Covenant

Then a shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots will bear fruit. Isaiah 11:1 (GW)

When a mature tree is cut to the bottom of it, leaving the stump, it may look barren, old, ugly and useless. It is at this time when the stump enters a new cycle of rest and growth. Vibrancy is happening deep down the root system. When the appointed time arrives, the tree will bring forth benefits and turn into a blessing. As long as the root system remains intact, new shoots will come out.

The root system of tree stumps and plants are a picture of the covenant between God with His people. When the Prophet Isaiah prophesied this piece of revelation, it unpacked an extremely vital spiritual principle on bonding. In between Jesse and Jesus were approximately twenty-eight generations. That was a long time of a gap, and yet, a new shoot came out of an old stump. The branch from its roots bears fruit. It wasn't an ordinary fruit but the ultimate Promise of God. From this stump came Christ Jesus, the Messiah.

Hold on to the Covenant which God has designed for you and your family. Greater things are yet to come, and they are coming through you and your bloodline.

You could be the stump, or maybe you are the new shoot. Whichever part you are, I can assure you that you are precious to the Father. You are a vital part of the big plan of God's Kingdom. Without the stump, there will be no shoot and vice versa. Therefore, hold on to the Covenant which God has designed for you and your family. Greater things are yet to come, and they are coming through you and your bloodline.

A Prayer for Today:

Dearest awesome and most wonderful Father, I offer You my utmost praise and worship. Your promise deeply blesses my family and me. I stand in full confidence that my descendants will be a great nation. They and their families are going to accomplish mighty works for You. Hallelujah!
