TODAYS

You don’t need to walk alone.

Bowing as an expression of worship

Psalm 95:6 says,

“Come let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”

To kneel or bow down is an expression of reverence and honour. We humble ourselves as we bow before the Lord.

One of my stretching exercises is to bend, face down with my hands straight out in front of me. Every time I do this stretch, I feel like I’m bowing to the Lord, and I say a short prayer as I hold my position. The act of kneeling before the Lord is powerful. Bowing expresses our surrender to God. It says, “Lord, we are nothing without You and You are everything to me. You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You can do all things in heaven and on earth. You are all-powerful. There is none like You. Lord, I worship You. ” We give reverence to God as we humbly bow before Him.

Action

Try kneeling during your prayer time. If you have any knee conditions or pain, then please refrain from kneeling.

Let us pray

Lord Jesus, I thank you for loving us. Thank you for today. Lord, we humbly come before You today, to honour You and to worship You. We acknowledge that You are an amazing God. You are the creator of everything. You made us perfect in Your image. Lord, we lift our lives into Your loving hands. Let Your healing begin to flow through our body, soul, spirit and minds. Make us whole. Grant us grace to love and to share Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
