TODAYS

You don’t need to walk alone.

A Life Worthy of His Call

So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. (2 Thessalonians 1:11, NLT)

Embrace biblical and kingdom living, as well as practices. Walk away from all religious practices; Christianity by nature is a spiritual and yet, a practical living skill.

Life could be short on earth. You and I have only one life to live. Therefore, how should we live it? How does a life worthy of His call look?

A life worthy of His call requires correct alignment with the Holy Spirit and the Truth of God's word. In a practical sense, we are to recognise sound teaching and be wise to reject heresies. Embrace biblical and kingdom living, as well as practices. Walk away from all religious practices; Christianity by nature is a spiritual and yet, a practical living skill. It is an act of balancing daily. Let us study the life of our Lord, as well as the rest of His apostles.

Learn to take on trials and testing, dare to face challenges and persecutions in and for the Lord. Jesus was counted worthy as He chose to walk the road of sufferings in the call of His Father. We too, are to accept the fate of suffering for the Gospel. I am not suggesting that we go around creating trouble and problems through careless and sinful living. Not in such a manner, such sufferings would not glorify God. Live life for the Truth and rescue those who are bound, bring freedom to these unfortunate souls.

In a time of crises, and when we are in the centre of tragedies, pray not that God would take them away. Instead pray for strength and grace, wisdom and maturity in character to take on and take them in. There is no quitting and coward-like behaviour in Christ and His kingdom. Our Lord didn't run away from the trial and unjust judgement. He faced them single-handedly, fulfilling the Father's will and glorifying God!

A life worthy of His call is a conscious decision which you and I are to make. Let us not hide behind the religious' prayer curtains' and say, "Lord, take those sufferings away from me." Instead, let us pray, ask the Lord to grant us the power to overcome them all! If we are in a marriage crisis, ask for strength to love our spouse more than before. If we are in a financial crisis, ask God for wisdom to manage our finances. When loved ones or we are unwell, let us switch off cynical and faithless attitude, activate faith and believe God for a supernatural turnaround. There are so many areas where the enemy of the Gospel search out to destroy the church. Let us stand as one to love, support and defend one another in Christ Jesus. Amen!
